For far too many moms today, the difficulty of feeding their family is a reality. Today, 37 million Americans (one-eighth of the population) need food assistance every year, and one in every four American children struggles with hunger. What if that child was yours?
First, be open to all food choices for all Americans so they can freely choose the food that’s best for their families—even if it’s different than what’s best for you.
Second, we invite you to join our cause and share with your family and friends.
And finally, we know it might not be easy feeding your own family every week, but if you are able to, we ask that you donate to one of these charities. Feeding America, Food Bank of Iowa and Meals from the Heartland are three organizations dedicated to helping people who don’t have food choices. Help give them food choices too.
“[Our study] Hunger in America 2010 exposes the absolutely tragic reality of just how many people in our nation don’t have enough to eat.”
–Vicki Escarra, President and CEO, Feeding America
“It is morally reprehensible that we live in the wealthiest nation in the world where one in six people are struggling to make choices between food and other basic necessities.”
–Vicki Escarra, President and CEO, Feeding America
